These are the main differences between the AM-2 and the AM-5. The goal is not to replace the AM-2 but to offer a higher end product.
- AM-5 is a 16 cell LFP (LifePO4).
- This is a new technology model and works with the Cloudlink.
- The new AM-5 has brand new A grade prismatic cells (Safest Rated Cells) . AM-2 has brand new A grade NMC cells. Nickel, manganese and Cobalt, more cost effective.
- The cycle life and warranty is not the same as the AM2. The AM5 comes with a 10 yr unlimited Cycles warranty which works out at roughly R28 per month.
- New Case design much more premium, for the higher end client where looks are imperative.
- New case design has the LCD indication display in front, easier to see instead of looking at the bottom.
- New case has the dc connectors internally and the DC Block is hidden inside to make for neater installs, again a nicer cosmetic look and feel.
- The main difference is the LIFPO4 cells being newer and safer technology
